Firdaria: Medieval Time Lords
Persian Planetary Period System
Learn about Firdaria — a medieval Persian timing technique that assigns planetary rulers to different life periods. Understand how day and night births affect the sequence.
What Are Firdaria?
Firdaria (singular: Firdar) is a medieval Persian timing system that divides life into planetary periods. Each planet rules a chunk of years, and sub-rulers divide these into smaller periods. The system differs based on whether you were born during the day or night.
Day Birth Sequence
| Planet | Years | Typical Ages |
|---|---|---|
| Sun | 10 | 0-10 |
| Venus | 8 | 10-18 |
| Mercury | 13 | 18-31 |
| Moon | 9 | 31-40 |
| Saturn | 11 | 40-51 |
| Jupiter | 12 | 51-63 |
| Mars | 7 | 63-70 |
| North Node | 3 | 70-73 |
| South Node | 2 | 73-75 |
Night Birth Sequence
Night births begin with the Moon instead of the Sun: Moon (9yr) → Saturn (11yr) → Jupiter (12yr) → Mars (7yr) → Sun (10yr) → Venus (8yr) → Mercury (13yr) → North Node (3yr) → South Node (2yr). The total is 75 years, after which the cycle repeats.
Using Firdaria in Zodisphere
Open the Firdaria Panel from the analysis toolbar. Zodisphere calculates your current major and sub-period rulers based on your birth data and whether you were born during the day or night (determined by the Sun's position relative to the horizon).
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if I was born during the day or night?
Check if your natal Sun is above or below the horizon (Ascendant-Descendant axis). Sun above = day birth, Sun below = night birth. Zodisphere calculates this automatically from your birth data.
What happens after 75 years?
The Firdaria cycle repeats from the beginning. Someone who lives past 75 returns to their first planetary period (Sun for day births, Moon for night births).
